The most popular question I've been asked since making the transition to a full-time business owner is:

How did you do it?!

So I asked you to send me your questions and thought it'd be really valuable for you if I filmed a Q&A...and here we are!

In today's video, I'm sharing my journey to self-employment, including all the ups, all the downs, and how I made it happen.

You can watch the video below:

Questions in the video:

  • How did you make the decision to go full-time?

  • How did you make/plan for the transition?

  • How long did it take to make it happen?

  • Was there a moment you just knew you had to take the plunge?

  • Have you ever had any negative comments about starting your own business and if so, how did you deal with them?

  • How many clients do you manage/how did you all start working together?

  • How did you know what to charge in the beginning and did you raise your fees after a while?

  • Would you recommend multiple income streams when it comes to setting up your own thing and going it alone?

Making the transition to self-employment and running your own business doesn't happen overnight. It takes a lot of hard work, dedication and sacrifice. If you're already on the journey or this is something you're thinking is for you, there will be plenty of times you'll want to give up. But you've got to keep going if it's what you really want.

Plan it all

My biggest piece of advice to you would be to have a plan for every aspect. How you're going to market yourself, how you're going to keep going, where you're going to work from...all of these things will be so important for how you and your business is going to run.
