TOP 10 MUST HAVE PINTEREST BOARDS FOR GAINING NEW FOLLOWERS

Believe it or not, there is a magical method to creating Pinterest boards that are optimised for gaining followers. The secret is, STOP pinning for yourself and START pinning content that your TARGET MARKET will love!
You need to be very strategic in what pins you pin and what boards you create. Today I am going to share my Top 10 Must Have Pinterest Boards for Gaining New Followers.
#1 | {Brand Boards} are a no-brainer, an absolute must, and totally necessary for your Pinterest account. Always place these boards as the first boards that you have.
Also, you should always pin YOUR BRAND PINS onto as many of your personal boards as possible. And for the love of sweet tea, please pin your brand pins onto group boards that you are a part of. Your brand is your baby, show it off first!
#2 | {Food & Drink} is the most popular category for both men and women on Pinterest.
Now, I am not talking about pinning your sweet mama's recipe of potato salad that everyone already knows how to make. Pin food and drink images that are appealing to look at, that you may never even make. Pinners are attracted to pretty images and will repin pretty food and drink images. Personally, I combined food + drinks together onto one board.
#3 | {Home Décor} boards should be full of inspirational interiors.
Again, pinners want to see gorgeous images and will be attracted to pins that allow them to escape reality. Let's stay away from the pins that actually look like our homes, instead pin images that your target market wants their home to look like. Trust me, home décor images get A LOT of repins. #4 | {DIY/Craft} is another majorly popular board type that most all pinners have. I have found that images with a clean white background with a DIY image on top with pops of colour get a lot of attention. Check out my DIY board here!!
#5 | {Travel} is a board that can be full of SERIOUS eye candy. Pin images that are simply gorgeous, that people will dream about going to. I love my Travel board...you can find it here. Travel images are sure to be repined.
#6 | {Blog / Biz Tips} is an absolute must have board! Want to know who may be interested in your biz and may possible be interested in collaborating with you? Other businesses similar to yours! Pin content that is helpful, knowledgeable, and honest. Every business owner is looking for new and fresh ways to operate their business!
#7 | {Fashion / Beauty} Pinterest boards are super fun! This is a chance to pin images that can show your audience what type of personal style you have.
Remember to pin for your TARGET MARKET though. Research big brands and pin their content - it is a given that these will be strong images that pinners will accidentally find and repin.
#8 | {Quotes} are motivational and inspiring to see. A mix of humour and inspirational quotes are sure to be pinned multiple times. Who doesn't love enjoy seeing quotes that will make them lol?! I know I certainly do! Pin those quotes people!
#9 | {Group Boards} are super important to be a part of. You totally want to go to this party and be besties with everyone there. #10 | {Photography} is a board that can be full of a variety of pins. Anything pretty can be inserted here. Think of gorgeous scenery, patterns/textures, nature, etc... Here is a good example.
