3 SIMPLE LIFESTYLE CHANGES THAT CAN FUEL YOUR PRODUCTIVITY
This is a guest post from Felicia Renee.
Hey y'all, I'm Felicia and I usually blog at The Felicia Renee, which is where I discuss self-care, productivity, being a vegetarian, and much more.
Lately, I have been working on simplifying my life and increasing my productivity. Living a simple lifestyle is easier said than done. I know this from experience while on a quest to find the simple things in life, instead of feeling complacent.
However, once you begin to change your life slowly but efficiently, you will notice that you will become even more productive.
You will notice clarity in your life and your to-do lists will begin to shrink. There are many ways to simplify your life, but these are three ways that I have come to find truly helpful.
#1 | PRACTICE SELF-CARE
I have become a big advocate for self-care after dealing with a lot of stress and having a huge load on my plate while in college.
I found ways to cope with stress that would help me physically, mentally, and emotionally. One of the best ways was to practice self-care. Self-care is taking care of your own needs in order to help others.
Many people put their needs last, which only ends up hurting them. So, find ways to help yourself in order to help others. Like, meditating, listening to podcasts, or taking walks without your phone. As you begin to take small breaks for yourself, you will realize that you will feel so much better and you will feel more productive and alert when you work on completing tasks.
#2 | HAVE A WAY TO STAY ORGANIZED
I use a lot of notebooks, post-its, and Microsoft OneNote on my MacBook to track my productivity. I feel very disorganized if I do not have something readily available to write things down on.
If you plan your day out, such as each hour individually, you may still have random thoughts come to mind on other things that you need to accomplish. A lot of the time when I am writing blog posts I think of other ideas for future posts. So, I grab a post-it and write down my quick thought so I can go back to it later.
By the end of the day, I make sure that all of the random notes I have written down are organized exactly where I want them to be. May it be on OneNote on my MacBook, or in an assigned notebook.
#3 | DECLUTTER YOUR LIFE
I recently created a minimalistic living series, and part three encompasses decluttering. The basis is to declutter and minimize your living spaces, but I think these tips can work for every part of your life.
If you are constantly busy and you have chaos in every part of your life, whether it is your workspace, your relationships, or your schedule, you need to find balance and organization so you no longer feel overwhelmed. Take out time for yourself and breathe. Keep what is helping you be successful and eliminate the rest. As you do this, you will notice so much clarity in your life and in your work.
If you take these three simple steps to try to find some balance and order in your life you will realize how your productivity will begin to increase dramatically. As soon as I began organizing and adding structure to my tasks, practising self-care, and decluttering my life, I noticed so much clarity in ways that I did not previously. I hope these steps help you, and do not forget to check out my site, or find me on social media for more tips on simplicity and productivity!
