SEVEN FOR SUNDAY: 20TH MARCH 2016
So there's something slightly different about this post this week and something the same.
What's different is whereas last week I wrote this to you from my desk, I'm now writing it to you from my kitchen table, where I'm drinking a tea and listening to a Hits playlist on Spotify, because hey weekend!
What's the same is that I've had my eyes glued to a spreadsheet - again.
I'm not complaining, because obviously I love my job. But oh my word, my eyes were like squares again by the end of the day.
Anyway, I'm celebrating today because my late nights at work are finally over. I've got one more next week and that's it until September. We're all really happy in the office to get our evenings back, especially as the warmer months start approaching. And on that note, here's seven very spring things for you to enjoy!
Let's get on with it, shall we?
#1 | Country adventures
I'll start with the funniest part of this post and introduce you to Bess. She's a rescue. Tom and I met her last weekend when we went out for a Sunday morning cream tea/hot chocolate.
On our way back we stopped off at a shop called Melt which sells the most gorgeous candles you've ever smelt. Bess was outside the front door eating and making lots of funny noises. She was really friendly!
Something I love the most about out country adventures is meeting new faces - even if they are small and have lots of feathers!
#2 | Bullet journaling
You've probably noticed that I've been mentioning bullet journaling a lot on this blog and over on my Instagram too. I found out about this quite a while ago and didn't think it was for me - but that was when I didn't really know how to use it properly.
Now I've done my research and drooled over some other bullet journals I am officially hooked.
I'm one of those people who's always been organised but has never really found a system to work. I've got diaries, notebooks and sticky notes a-plenty - but ideally, I wanted everything in one place.
Enter the bullet journal.
I've planned what I want to include in it, started laying out my pages and let me tell you - I'm SO excited. Watch this space.
#3 | New shoes
You know when you say you're going to buy something but you never get round to it That's what these shoes were.
I'd been after some black courts for ages, especially as we're going into Spring. These beauties are from H&M and I'm obsessed with how they go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe. Trousers, skirts, dresses - you name it, these shoes can go with it.
Admittedly it's taken a few days to wear them in (and my mamma thinks it's too cold to go barefoot yet). But I feel they add an edge to my outfits and I absolutely adore wearing them (shop here).
#4 | When everything matches
First of all, I apologise how this next picture has turned out mega blurry.
Second of all, if you're getting a manicure anytime soon, go for a nude.
I got this shirt dress from River Island last season and I always get compliments when I wear it. It's definitely one of the favourites in my wardrobe and I love that I can wear it for work and for playtime too!
I'm currently waiting for warmer days so I can wear this bare legged with a tan and some cute wedges. The belt around the waist that ties makes it so flattering and I know this is going to be a timeless, staple piece for years to come.
#5 | Sunsets
You know the saying how it's always the smaller moments you'll remember the most? It's true.
One night during the week when I was getting ready to do my workout, Tom rang me when he'd finished work and said, "It's a beautiful day, let's go for a walk."
So we headed out on our usual summer walk - the first time we've done it this year. We were out for about an hour, talked the whole way and even stopped to get some pictures.
The sun was being a very good egg and played the perfect prop to add to the very romantic setting. I mean - just look at that sky.
#6 | Manicures
Here's something you won't know about me - until December 2015, I'd never gotten a manicure.
I know, right? You see when I was younger, I always used to bite my nails. I haven't now for a long time, but biting them for so long has made them very weak and unhealthy.
So when I had friends, other bloggers plus my nana raving about how amazing shellac was, I went for it.
Oh boy.
I'm addicted. I want my nails to be shellac-ed all the time. I go to a salon nearby and they're SO good. But not only do they always look great, my nails are stronger and healthier than they've ever been.
#7 | The Gram Gang
If you've never taken part in an Instagram challenge before, you really should.
The Gram Gang is an Instagram community created by the amazing, Steph, who runs the blog Small Talk Social. Every day there's a different prompt and you share the image you've taken and a little caption using #TheGramGang.
This is one of the best things I've ever done as a blogger. First, because it's really pushed me out of my comfort zone. It's pushed me to create beautiful images and I'm so proud of myself. Plus, it's also allowed me to connect with some pretty great people. To see how others interpret the same prompt is really interesting and really helps you get to know the person behind the business or brand.
The picture below was for Friday's prompt, Artful Arrangement. It's one of my favourites.
So there you have another Seven for Sunday! Now I'm off to Tom's to eat some yummy food and catch up on magazines. Perfect Saturday night <3
Let's chat in the comments - what have been some of the highlights of your week? Anything new with you?
