Back To The Roots #2 | A Long Weekend In Penrith

Ullswater Lake

Last weekend, the fam and I took a well deserved trip to Penrith. We walked a lot, (20,000 steps one day!), ate, chatted, laughed and spent every night relaxing in the hot tub. The highlight for all of us was a trip to the beautiful Aira Force - the number one attraction in Penrith. Words will never describe the beauty of this place, so I really hope you enjoy the photos.

In other news, I'd need a huge post on its own to try and describe to you how manic September is going to be. So today I'm just gonna' share a few things with you, OK? OK.

ONE: It's official - I had my first hot chocolate since Spring on Thursday, which means, hello Autumn! If you join in with my convos on Twitter & Instagram you'll have noticed that Autumn is my favourite season. I love the heat and everything that Summer brings, but there's nothing I love more than putting on warm clothes and going for a walk in the crisp, fresh air. The colours of this season are also so lovely. So even though August has just ended I'm dreaming of more hot chocolate, blankets and Halloween. #BRINGMEAUTUMN

TWO: Does anyone else want this marble iPhone case as much as me? I've got a huge marble addiction right now.

THREE: A big thing for me to focus on this month is being more intentional. This week was the start of that and it's been the best week I've had in a while. Instead of thinking about what's going round in my head and what I've got to do, I've been focusing on what I'm doing in a given moment. If I'm driving, I'll focus on my surroundings and the music playing. If I'm exercising, I'll focus on the movement of my body. If I'm playing piano, I'll be in the music. And if I'm writing, I'll focus purely on the words.

It's about being in a moment and not Instagramming it - guilty. I'm actually considering starting a little series on intentional living, so let me know if you'd be interested.

"It's not only moving that creates new starting points. Sometimes, all it takes is a subtle shift in perspective, an opening of the mind, and intentional pause and reset, or a new route to start to see new options and new possibilities."

- Kristin Armstrong

Have the perfect Sunday to round off your week everyone!
